It's a week after Christmas and all through the house...

Every creature is stirring, even a mouse. Sorry, I couldn't resist to use that rhyme. So yeah! It is past Christmas, and let me tell you, it was the probably the best Christmas I've had in awhile. I got some awesome stuff this year. My little sis got me a pair of headphones, blue ones to be exact. Although I requested a pair of pink sparkly ones, I'm ok with the ones she got me. My bro was home for Christmas, and he got me a sweater/shirt with Christmas mittens on it. It's very warm and cozy, I like wearing it. I also got another pair of clip-on earrings from my older sis, and a Pinkie Pie plush from my parents. Yeah, if you haven't figured out by now, I absolutely LOVE My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Don't bash me on the brain for liking it, I've already had enough of that from some people...

Anyways, back to my presents. The Pinkie Pie toy wasn't the only thing my parents got me. No, I also found something incredily awesome in one of those bags addressed to me. Something I've been wanting for a long time. Remember how awhile back in one of my posts that I mentioned wanting the Sims 3 game? Well, my mom obviously must of been reading that one, because that is what I found wrapped up in tissue paper in a Christmas bag. Ok, so just telling you, I went absolutely crazy upon finding the game and just, like started screaming in glee and even fell onto the ground rolling around. I was just so surprised, I mean, I wasn't even expecting that to be one of my presents, yet it was! So now you know why I haven't been posting as much lately, I've been rather obsessed with the game. Here, let me show you some pics I took:

Mommy Alisha reading little Elijah a story. How adorable!

Alisha making some Autumn Salad.

Ah Elijah, I see a bright future in music for you!

Alisha in her pajamas, cooking up some breakfast.

I see you in there!

David being a cutie
I have lots more pics, but I figured I might show you a few from one of my families. If you want to see more, just tell me and I'll have some more pics for you all to see.

Today is the last day of 2012. Sigh...at least we made it through the dreaded "apocalypse". I was just getting used to this year, now it is leaving. I'm staying up until 12:00 tonight to ring in the new year. I do that every year, normally I wouldn't, but I'm older now and I like doing that kind of thing.

Welp, I guess that is it for now. I really don't feel much like talking right now, is that weird? Bye.

Screenshots from my Virtual Families game

Ok, so I've wanted every Sims 3 game for awhile now, but they are pretty expensive so I don't think I'll be getting some anytime. In the meantime, I found this fun game called Virtual Families, that is kind of like the very first Sims game that came out in 2000, but just a little simpler. I've been playing it for awhile, but I haven't even got through one legacy yet. Today, I decided to show you some screenshots of one of the little families I've been playing with, just for fun:
Here is the dad, Garth, and daughter Riley fixing the birdbath together.
Finished fixing the birdbath! Yay!
Looks like someone needs to use the potty, lolz

Aw, look, Mommy is telling Riley a story, how cute!

The family gathered in the living room to watch television. Not quite sure what they are watching though.

So apparently we get a trophy for turning off the tv? Sweet.

Ok, so instead of freaking out, just fix the stupid thing! Good gracious!

Good girl Riley, you do your homework so you can get good grades in college and make your mommy and daddy proud

....right, you do that

I bought them a grill, you know, because I can.
I don't know if you can see, but she has a basket full of dirty socks.

Nellie, the family cat relaxing on the bed

Ew, yeah, you throw that fish out.

I hope someone fills that gopher hole up soon...

Riley measuring her height. She doesn't look any taller to me, though.

What's this now...

The whole family with the new baby!
And look! It's another girl who I will be renaming as soon as she ages.

Ok ok this is obviously not part of the game but I wanted to show you the wallpaper on my computer. It's the poster for the Doctor Who 2012 Christmas Special.

That's all for now!

Ho Hum

Where has the time gone? How have I let countless weeks slip by without posting? I'll bet you guys are wondering what has been going on with me and my life. Well never fear! I'm here to give you a wee bit of an update.

Alas, another Thanksgiving has come and gone. My brother came home that week, so the whole family was together for the holiday. We had a very nice time.

As you may have noticed, my blog is in the festive-mood. I've been remodeling it for Christmas, but its nothing fancy at the moment, just a new theme and some music. Along with a countdown at the bottom. Just a bit of a work in progress right now.

Christmas! Yes my favorite holiday is coming! At the moment, I have no idea what I'm going to get for my family members, but I'm sure I'll think of something soon. I have a good while to save money and ponder. I think my family is getting our Christmas tree next week. I pray to the good LORD that my dad will have enough sense to buy an artificial one this time, because I am not in the mood to haul in a huge fir tree into the house, and besides, I'm kind of allergic.

I finally managed to finish a book this year. The book you ask? "The Hunger Games". Yes, I've already seen the movie, and I've got to tell you, I liked the book more up until the ending. I hate endings. They are always the worst part of a book. Right when you are enjoying it, the words "THE END" come across the page. Oh well, I guess that is what sequels are for right?

On a bright note, we found out the gender of the next baby. Drumroll please....

It's....

going...

to...

be...

a....

girl!

Yes, I'm getting another sister. I'm not upset, I mean, I wasn't even caring about the gender. At my mom's age we all just want it to be a healthy pregnancy with a healthy baby. And so far, everything seems to be ok. My mom showed us some ultrasound pictures, and it seems this little girl is already very active. I think we have a future soccer player in our family.

After nearly several months of waiting, I finally got to see "The Avengers"! And let me tell you, it was AWESOME! Probably the best movie I've seen all year! Of course the opening was action packed, then it slowed down for a bit, but the action picked up quickly and I loved the whole thing! Wonderful acting by each, they casted the characters perfectly. I am looking forward to every Marvel movie following this one. Which, by the way, Iron Man 3 already had its first trailer. And I'm slightly  scared by it.

I also got to see "Dark Shadows".  It was laughable, I really enjoyed it. And I'm wondering if I'm the only person who did, because I've looked at other people's reviews and they say it was the worst movie they had ever seen. Those people have a problem. It was a great film.

So...have I watched any other films that have come out recently? Nope. I'm just waiting here in my nook for "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" to come out. But then, as I'm not allowed to visit the theater thanks to my strict and weird parents(just kidding, I love them! But my dad is partially weird), I'm going to have to wait for it to be released on DVD.

A few of my followers are Whovians(Doctor Who fans), and I'm just curious as to how you all fared with the Season 7 Fall Finale? Well, I can honestly say...I cried. Yes, I cried. I never usually cry at movies and tv shows but as soon as the Ponds took the plunge off the building, tears were shed. And then, boom! They are back alive! And I'm mad because I got embarassed in front of my family! But to make a long story short, wait, nevermind, I'm not going to spoil what happens to them in the end if you haven't seen the episode yet.  It was sad, let me tell you. It was sad.

Ok...I think I've talked long enough. So...bye.

And what a sight!

For the past few days, I've been hearing several helicopters flying around. And today, I found out the reason why.

We went to music lessons today, you know, the basic routine. Then I find out from my sister's music teacher that very close by, they are filming one of my favorite television shows, "Revolution". If you don't know the plot of this program, allow me to explain it, or better yet, allow me to let the folks of IMDB explain it:

"Our entire way of life depends on electricity. So what would happen if it just stopped working? Well, one day, like a switch turned off, the world is suddenly thrust back into the dark ages. Planes fall from the sky, hospitals shut down, and communication is impossible. And without any modern technology, who can tell us why? Now, 15 years later, life is back to what it once was long before the industrial revolution: families living in quiet cul-de-sacs, and when the sun goes down lanterns and candles are lit. Life is slower and sweeter. Or is it? On the fringes of small farming communities, danger lurks. And a young woman's life is dramatically changed when a local militia arrives and kills her father, who mysteriously - and unbeknownst to her - had something to do with the blackout. This brutal encounter sets her and two unlikely companions off on a daring coming-of-age journey to find answers about the past in the hopes of reclaiming the future."

I would totally recommend this show to you guys. It's pretty action packed and will keep you on your seat every minute.

So, back on track. I got very excited. So after lessons were finished, my mom drove us past the area where they were set up to film. It was actually right in the middle of town, in the old stockyards. And we get there, and lone behold there are lots of cars and trailers and lights and stuff set up. It was really neat! I was almost hoping one of the actors would appear so I could get a picture, but sadly, the weather is really nasty today, so I'm guessing they were probably all keeping warm in their trailers.

Nothing else much is going on. I thought this might be an interesting post for you all to read. And like I said, do the check the show out if you aren't watching it already!

My life is a rollercoaster

Wow, when was the last time I talked about life? I don't want to even try to think that far. So much has happened I don't even know WHERE to start!

Ok...how about I just start here. Music has started back again(not that I'm really thrilled). There are lots of new chords and stuff I'm trying out this year...and new songs. Sometimes I wish I'd stuck with piano, guitar is wearing out my poor wittle fingers.

School has been ho-hum. So far, Algebra hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be, although some things don't even make sense when I read it. And I'm doing a novel course, you know, the basics of writing a book. So yeah, hopefully I'll have a novel completed by the end of this year. Who knows? It is so hard for me to concentrate on just one story. Everytime I turn around I am getting new ideas. Argh, why does my brain have to be so active all the time? I don't know whether that is a good or a bad thing.

Enough about school, onto my main life. My brother has been off at college for a couple of months now. The house seems so quiet without him...and believe me, if you heard my brother talk you'd know what I mean. In other words, yeah, I miss him. I never thought I would miss him, but I am missing him alot.

I finally got to see The Hunger Games awhile back. And were my expectations met? Not really. I mean yeah, it was a good film and all, but it kind of felt like they sped through the whole beginning just to get to the main deal of the film. Plus, the camera was all shaky through most of the film, and I found the lack of music somewhat disturbing. Despite all that, I managed to shed a few tears when Rue died, but who didn't? It angered me a little too. I mean, think about it. She was only twelve years old. And the fact that people are watching kids fight to the death, it sickens me. So yeah, I guess you can say I've got a love/hate relationship with The Hunger Games.

Now onto the news I've been waiting to get to this whole post....guess who is gonna be a big sister?

......

Give up? It should be that obvious! Me! Yes, I'm not joking. For the past couple of days, my mom hasn't been feeling all that great. So she went to the doctor today to see what was up. I'll admit, I was a little worried. But it turns out, it was nothing serious. I was just in my room, you know, hanging out when my mom came back home all smiles. Then the announcement was made, that me and my sisters are gonna be big sisters. At first I thought I'd gone deaf, then I thought I was dreaming, and I even pinched myself twice to make sure. But its true. My mom is having a baby! And after twelve years, that seems weird, but I'm still really happy. And I'm hoping to get a little brother this time, because, I mean, really, and my brother would agree with me on that point, we have three girls in this family(two plus me).

Well...now what? Oh yeah, its raining, and I'm gonna go get my lunch and watch Doctor Who. Bye!

Personally, I'm rather excited now. I'm going to watch this trailer a thousand times until I've got it all memorized. Grr, can't it just be out already?!?!?

A Book Tag

Just recently, I was on a good friend's blog and happened to come across a book tag. And I thought "Why not? Sounds fun!", so here we go.

Do you snack while you read? Not much. I don't like getting snack food stains on the pages.

What is your favourite drink while reading? Occasionally a cup of cocoa.

Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you? Not really...

How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears? Laying the book flat open? I usually just use a bookmark, or a strip of paper.

 Fiction, non-fiction, or both? Both.
Are you a person who tends to read to the end of a chapter, or can you stop anywhere? Always to the end of a chapter. If I stop just someplace, I usually don't remember where I was when I start reading again.

Are you the type of person to throw a book across the room or on the floor if the author irritates you? Oh honey, you wouldn't believe the things I do...

If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop and look it up right away? I just skip it and keep reading.

What are you currently reading? "Dragonspell" by Donita K. Paul and "Edge on the Sword" by Rebecca Tingle.

What is the last book you bought? I don't remember...

Do you have a favourite time/place to read? Usually on the comfy couch next to the lamp. It feels cozy.

Do you prefer series books or stand alones? Doesn't matter. I'll read about anything.

Is there a specific book or author you find yourself recommending over and over? No.

How do you organize your books? (by genre, title, author’s last name, etc.)? Just...on a bookshelf. They aren't in any specific order, as I'm not the best organizer.

Musical Mondays: Caledonia

Lyrics:

I don't know if you can see
The changes that have come over me
In these last few days I've been afraid
That I might drift away
So I've been telling old stories, singing songs
That make me think about where I came from
And that's the reason why I seem
So far away today

Oh, but let me tell you that I love you
That I think about you all the time
Caledonia you're calling me
And now I'm going home
If I should become a stranger
You know that it would make me more than sad
Caledonia's been everything
I've ever had

Now I have moved and I've kept on moving
Proved the points that I needed proving
Lost the friends that I needed losing
Found others on the way
I have kissed the ladies and left them crying
Stolen dreams, yes there's no denying
I have traveled hard with coattails flying
Somewhere in the wind

(Chorus)
Now I'm sitting here before the fire
The empty room, the forest choir
The flames that could not get any higher
They've withered now they've gone
But I'm steady thinking my way is clear
And I know what I will do tomorrow
When the hands are shaken and the kisses flow
Then I will disappear

Musical Mondays #3 "The Call" by Regina Spektor

Lyrics:
It started out as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word
And then that word grew louder and louder
'Til it was a battle cry
I'll come back when you call me
No need to say goodbye

Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never been this way before
All you can do is try to know who your friends are
As you head off to the war
Pick a star on the dark horizon and follow the light
You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye
You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye

Now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget
Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
'Til they're before your eyes
You'll come back when they call you
No need to say goodbye
You'll come back when they call you
No need to say goodbye

Some of the craziest hotels ever!

Have you ever gotten tired of those same old hotels with the same old beds, the same old breakfast, and the same old same old? Well while browsing the Internet the other day, I came across some of pictures of wacky hotels, which, I don't even know if they exist for real. Let's get started shall we?

Oh yes, this, this is just gorgeous.

My sister would love this one.

Cute. :D

I wouldn't feel safe here. Too much glass.

Hobbit hole for the win!!!!

......Really? An old jail hotel? Nice...

Is this...an upside down hotel? THAT'S AWESOME.

I wonder who built this hotel...

I'm in love with this hotel. I mean, it's a treehouse! You sleep, in, a treehouse!

As much as this underwater one is cool, I wouldn't feel safe here either. Sharks might pay me a visit...

This is my favorite. I would love to stay in a library hotel. But does it exist?

Which ones do you like? Feel free to post a comment and tell me.
